As I have mentioned before we moved into a new house at the beginning of this year, it was a mess when it first went for sale then it got a fresh coat of paint right before we bough it and voila we have a house full of beige, my nightmare! We have been slowly but surely trying to work through the house and give it a little color and personality. The most recent room we tackled was the upstairs bathroom that my girls use. While I would have loved to do a full remodel that was not in the budget so instead we added some color and new decor and I am really happy with how it turned out.
We painted the walls with Glidden Paints Almost Aqua the same color we used in my daughter’s mermaid bedroom. The color really looks great in this room and goes perfectly with the inspiration for the bathroom the Kushies Shower Curtain Jungle. This shower curtain is absolutely adorable and my kids love it! The cute animals are fun and whimsical and the colors are bright and vibrant. Kushies also has matching shower curtain hooks that are perfectly matched to the Jungle shower curtain the hooks have lions, giraffes, elephants and zebras. And to finish off the bathroom decor set from Kushies you have your choice of bathmat and squirter set you can go with the matching Jungle animals or the marine set. I love that the bathmat keeps my kids from slipping especially since my older girls now take shower by themselves and the girls love how cute the mat is and how fun the squirters are to play with!
I love how well the paint color looks with the shower curtain, it’s perfect! Looking for art work to match this shower curtain seemed impossible but of course Gallery Direct came through in the end. As soon as I gave up on the idea of an animal print I found a fantastic abstract piece in the colors that I needed. The art piece is Multiverse II by Benjamin Arnot I chose to have it mounted on acrylic so that the paint color showed through plus I think the casual look and durability were perfect for in a kids bathroom. It works perfectly and adds the perfect bit of contrast to the bathroom without disrupting the theme.
Now the only thing I needed was wall hooks for the bathroom and some new towels to match the new decor. I found the perfect shade of raspberry at Target for the bathmat and towels and love how they bring out the lions mane in the Kushies shower curtain. As for the wall hooks it took lots of searching and falling in love with some very expensive hooks that were not worth the price. Then I found these fantastic bird hooks from Umbra the Umbra Birdie Wall Hook. Not only are they adorable but they were a steal on Amazon 3 for $11.35. I needed 4 so I bought 2 sets the extra two birds ended up in my older girls room, they are just so darn cute!
I am really happy with how the bathroom turned out and my girls are too. Are you planning a bathroom makeover soon?
